But when you're starting out in business, it can be difficult to find your feet. You've got qualifications and experience, bags of enthusiasm and plenty of pioneering ideas - but you still feel like you need more to get ahead.

They say it's not what you know, it's who you know. Which is half right. Yes, knowing the right people at the right time will help you in your career. But so will knowing the right skills and the craft of your trade. Which is why we have launched MESHmcr.

This is no stuffy networking event full of people with more senior roles. This is a networking vent for those just starting out in their chosen field. It's a networking event for you and me. And because we know we all have valuable skills and we can learn from each other, part of MESHmcr will see a 'skills sharing schmooze'. You can volunteer to share your skills to the other young networkers, or you can put a request out for someone to give you a workshop on their specialist subject, From web design and SEO to balancing books and the legality of contracts, we can all work together, learn from each other and connect with each other to make Manchester the most vibrant, skilled and connected young professional city.
